Finally winter has come to Southern Germany and finally I have finished Lindisfarne by Marie Wallin from the Rowan Magazine 58.
Lindisfarne was my number 1 of this seasons magazine. It is knitted in Rowan Felted Tweed Aran and Rowan Fazed Tweed. It is worked completely in fair-isle technique, but only the central panel is showing the fair-isle pattern on the right side. The sleeves and the rest of the body is worked in reverse fair-isle.
I’m really glad to finish it right in time to wear it now, after the temperatures are dropping below zero.
Here is a detail of the central panel, worked in fair-isle.
And here is close-up of the reverse fair-isle:
Just lovely! I like the reverse fair isle, it makes the garment much more unique! Well done!
Thank you so much!
Fantastic! I’ve never heard of showing the reverse side, but it’s pretty darn gorgeous. I love that sweater on you! So handsome!
Thank you so much, Kristen!
Another spectacular Knit Konrad! This reverse fair isle has been popping up on commercial sweaters for a couple of seasons…..definitely on trend 🙂 Stranded Aran yarn….hmmmm….would make an extremely warm sweater…..just in time for your winter weather…enjoy 🙂
Looks fab Konrad!
Thank you so much, Shannon. 😊
Too nice!
Absolutely fabulous. I love the combination of regular Fair Isle and its reverse.
I also love the combination and admire your skill! Such as perfect combination of colors as well – and it looks like it would keep you nice and warm.
Thank you so much, Michael. 😊
I live very close to Lindisfarne (also called Holy Island), and we had a wonderful bracing walk there on Saturday. This jersey is perfect for the place and setting, and would have been excellent for keeping warm and stylish on such a walk! A beautiful knit!
Thank you so much. Yes it will keep me warm on those cold winter days we are looking forward.
My goodness that is so gorgeous and so beautifully knitted! Brilliant. X
Thank you so much! 😊
Gorgeous, and perfect for winter indeed! I am so impressed by your knitting efficiency, I’m in the middle of an Aran sweater and it is missing so slowly… I will probably finish it by Spring, sigh!
I meant going so slowly, or moving… I’m not sure, but maybe I am missing my knitting mojo these days.
