Winter Whimsy

Deborah Newton - Bobble Hat

Deborah Newton – Bobble Hat

Deborah Newton is talking about her affection for bobbles and declares the “knitted popcorns” to be “the ultimate holiday embellishment.”
She is showing her Bobble Hat in North Light Fibers Beach Avenue (70% baby alpaca, 30% fine merino), a worsted 3-ply yarn in shade Peony. It is knitted in the round.
Knitable in 2 sizes 20 (21′)/50,5 (53,5)cm at lower edge

Lacing it up with Brioche

Nancy Marchant - Brioche Lace Scarf

Nancy Marchant – Brioche Lace Scarf

YAY! Two-coloured brioche stitch in a lace design! Fantastic. This scarf by Nancy Marchant is knitted using Debbie Bliss‘ Party Angel (72% mohair, 24% silk, 4% metallized polyester). Explore the beauty of this stitch in a challenging design.
Finished measurements 13’/33 cm wide x 69’/176cm long.

If you like the brioche stitch, I recommend “knitting BRIOCHE – The Essential Guide to the Brioche Stitch” by Nancy Marchant, published by North Light Books.

Black, White and a Little Bit of Glitter

Brooke Nico - Crystalett Shawl

Brooke Nico – Crystalett Shawl

“This is the dawning of an age of embellishment” Christina Behnke rejoices. I’m also cheering, because of this beautiful lace design. This triangle shaped shawl, a design by Brooke Nico,  is knitted using Mimi (100% mink)  from Lotus Yarns. The crystal buttons are hooked on the stitches during knitting this lovely design.
Knitted measurements:
Width at top edge 52″/132cm
Length at center point 20″/51cm

Marie Wallin - Beaded Scoop-Neck Tee

Marie Wallin – Beaded Scoop-Neck Tee

Over 2000 beads embellish this close fitting Scoop-Neck Tee by Marie Wallin. The beads are threaded on the yarn before knitting and placed during knitting the chart. A chevron pattern in  different stripe sequences is placed below and on top of this beaded stockinette panel.  This design is knitted using Rowan Kidsilk Haze (70% mohair, 30% silk). Beyond the beads Rowan Anchor Artiste Metallic (80% viscose, 20% metallized polyester) adds sparkle.
Knitable in 4 sizes from 34″ (86,5cm) to 46″ (117cm).

Amanda Kaffka - Lace Pullover

Amanda Kaffka – Lace Pullover

I love this design by Amanda Kaffka. Front and back of this loose-fitting top are knitted flat, then joined at the shoulders. The sleeves and side borders are then picked up and worked. The side seams are finally closed using 3-needle bind-off. The lace is worked using a chart. It is knitted using Kid Seta (61% super kid mohair, 35% silk, 4% wool) from Cascade Yarns.
Knitable in 3 sizes from 45″ (114cm) to 58″ (147cm).

Mari Lynn Patrick - Directional Tunic Top

Mari Lynn Patrick – Directional Tunic Top

This standard-fitting top is knitted using Regal Silk (100% silk) and Beaded Silk and Sequins Light (100% silk with glass beads and sequins) from Artyarns.
This design is knitted in two directions and the beaded yarn is used on the front edges only. Short rows are used for shaping.
Knitable in 2 sizes from 36 (40″)/91,5 (101,5)cm.

Jill Wright - Lacy Batwing Pullover

Jill Wright – Lacy Batwing Pullover

This is an interesting design. Light coloured lace panels are divided by a dark coloured stockinette stitch insert. It is knitted using intarsia technique, twisting yarns on the WS when changing colours. The lower edging is picked up and knitted on. Jill Wright used two different yarns from Prism: Elise (85% rayon, 15% metallic polyester) in shade antique and Delicato (100% tencel®) in shade ebony for this standard-fitting pullover.
Knitable in 4 sizes from 32″ (81,5 cm) to 44½” (113cm) measured over waist above rib.

Deborah Newton - Bow Cardi

Deborah Newton – Bow Cardi

This is the design for every romantically minded woman, isn’t it. I love this bow and I love the different patterns used for this design. They are adding interest but are not to difficult to knit. Deborah Newton used two different shades of S. Charles Collezione’s Stella (74% silk, 26% lurex metallic) for her standard-fitting cardigan.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 35″ (89cm) to 46″ (117cm) bust closed.

Comfort & Joy

Margeau Soboti - Double Seed Stitch Pullover

Margeau Soboti – Double Seed Stitch Pullover

Double moss stitch flourishes on this loose fitting pullover by Margeau Soboti. A k1, p1 rib pattern encircles this plot. I love the colour and the turtleneck on this easy to knit design. Shown here in HiKoo Skacel Collection’s Zumie (50% acrylic, 30% wool, 20% nylon) in shade #109 laurel.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 38″ (96,5cm) to 54½” (138,5cm)

Shiri Mor - Shawl-Collar Jacket

Shiri Mor – Shawl-Collar Jacket

This standard-fitting cardigan introduces a lovely slip-stitch pattern, producing a “no smocking” effect. This design is knitted in one piece. The sleeves are casted on at the back using a provisional cast-on. This provisional cast-on is undone later to pick up the stitches for the second half of the sleeves on the fronts. After blocking stitches are picked up for the cuffs, the pocket edges and the shawl collar. These are knitted in Fisherman’s Rib. It is a interesting and comfy looking design by Shiri Mor. She used Worsted Hand Dyes (50% royal alpaca, 50% merino) from Blue Sky Alpacas.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 36″ (91,5cm) to 53¾” (136,5cm) bust closed.

John Brinegar - Cropped Moto Jacket

John Brinegar – Cropped Moto Jacket

Now this design is looking a little bit to bulky for my taste. An advertisement for a german chocolate spooks through my brain. “Quadratisch, praktisch, gut” (quadratic, practical, good) in the figurative sense. John Brinegar used Bulky Merino (100% merino wool) from Koigu Wool Designs for this standard-fitting cardigan with oversized sleeves.
Knitable in 3 sizes from 37″ (94cm) to 49″ (124,5cm).

Annabelle Speer - Oversized Turtleneck Pullover

Annabelle Speer – Oversized Turtleneck Pullover

This standard-fitting cardigan is featuring an oversized turtleneck. I like this design, although it has drop-shoulder shaping. Annabelle Speer designs it using Bergère de France’s Plume (11% combed wool, 42% acrylic, 47% polyamide).
Knitable in 5 sizes from 36½” (92,5cm) to 52½” (133,5cm).

Patty Lyons - Cabled Coat

Patty Lyons – Cabled Coat

The edges of this standard-fitting coat are knitted in a ktbl, p1 pattern, whereas the rest is knitted in an all-over stag horn cable pattern. The A-shaping of this garment is intelligently created with changing needle sizes. Patty Lyons design is knitted using Baby Alpaca Grande (100% baby alpaca) of Plymouth Yarn Company.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 34½” (87,5cm) to 53½” (136cm).

Zahra Jade Knott - Ribbed Sleeve Pullover

Zahra Jade Knott – Ribbed Sleeve Pullover

UUUH, I love this design by Zahra Jade Knott. This loose-fitting pullover is knitted in a slip stitch pattern using two different yarns (and shades) of The Fibre Company/Kelbourne Woolens. The A-shaped body  is worked using Tundra (60% baby alpaca, 30% merino wool, 10% silk) in shade Frost, the sleeves are knitted in Canopy Worsted (50% baby alpaca, 30% merino wool, 20% viscose) in shade Laguna.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 35″ (89cm) to 50″ (127cm).

Wine with everything

Burgundy “a must-have shade this season.” (Christina Behnke) I must confess, I love this shade, because this rich dark red is like a tenebrous and arcane promise. Although dark it is adding brilliance to your wardrobe. I would like to see it much more, for men’s fashion as well.

Shirley Paden - Belted Cardigan

Shirley Paden – Belted Cardigan

This is a stunning design. Shirley Patton uses  twisted rib and cables surrounded by lifted eyelets in this standard-fitting cardigan. Side seam shaping and set-in sleeves are accomplishing this garment. It is shown here in shade Wine of Lana Gatto’s Super Soft (100% extrafine merino wool).
Knitable in 4 sizes from 36½” (93cm) to 49½” (126cm).

Pat Olski - Garter and Cable Scarf

Pat Olski – Garter and Cable Scarf

This is an easy, yet cosy and sumptuous scarf. A lovely cable pattern is surrounded by blocks of simple garter stitch. Pat Olski used 4 hanks of Mongolian Cashmere 6-ply (100% Mongolian cashmere) in shade Robe Royal from Jade Sapphire Exotic Fibres for this design.
Finished measurements:
7’/17,5cm width, 86″/218cm length.

Amanda Saladin - Textured Tote

Amanda Saladin – Textured Tote

Here is a design for those who wants to carry yarn on their shoulders! This tote by Amanda Saladin shows a centre cable on front and back, surrounded by double moss stitch, which is adding texture. Pompoms and a zipper closing are nice details. The tote is lined with fabric. It is shown here in shade Black Cherry of Columbia (100% wool) a 2-ply yarn from Imperial Yarn.
Finished measurements
Width 17″/43cm
Heigth 11″/28cm
Depth 5″/12,5cm

Shiri Mor - Hooded Waistcoat

Shiri Mor – Hooded Waistcoat

This Hooded Waistcoat, a design by Shiri Mor, is great. It is featuring a broad rib pattern and different cable pattern. This loose-fitting waistcoat has a flared back and set-in sleeves. The back shows also pleats ending in a button tab detail. It is shown here in shade Burgundy of Northampton (100% wool) from Valley Yarns.
Knitable in 3 sizes from 36″ (91,5cm) to 48″ (123cm).

Pat Olski - Chevron Hat

Pat Olski – Chevron Hat

Pat Olski designed this hat with a chevron pattern, worked in fair-isle technique. The brim is worked flat then joined in the round to knit the rest of the hat. It is knitted using in two shades (Burgundy, Charcoal) of Air Lace Weight (40% of down from the brushtail possum fiber, 40% cashmere, 20% mulberry silk) from Zealana.
Knitted measurements
Circumference 20″/50,5cm
Length approx. 8½”/21,5cm (with brim folded in half)

Jacqueline van Dillen - Cable-edged Vest

Jacqueline van Dillen – Cable-edged Vest

WOW, Jacqueline van Dillen, WOW. Look at these details: the big cables, forming the front edges are pouring out of the pocket detail! A rib pattern is adding depth to this standard fitting garment, the zipper closure is responsible for a modern and crisp look. Shown here in shade Merlot of Toboggan (70% merino, 30% superfine alpaca) from Classic Elite Yarns.
Knitable in 4 sizes from 34″ (86,5cm) to 50″ (127cm).

Marie Wallin - Cabled Cowl

Marie Wallin – Cabled Cowl

Short-row shaping adds a surprise twist to this cowl. It is knitted sideways, showing three different cable patterns. Cast-on and cast-off edges are sewn together after adding the fur edging. This luxurious cowl is knitted holding two strands of Rowan Lima (84% alpaca, 8% merino wool, 8% nylon) together. Marie Wallin used enigmatically glowing shade La Paz for this design. The fashionable faux fur edges are knitted in Rowan Fur (97% wool, 3% polyamide).
Finished measurements
Circumference approx 38″/96,5cm at widest point and approx 34″/86,5cm at narrowest point
Depth approx 13½”/34,5cm

Norah Gaughan - Cable and Chevron Top

Norah Gaughan – Cable and Chevron Top

I’m not quite sure, if I like this design. I like the cables and also the knitted chevron pattern of this loose-fitting top. But I’m not quite a fan of the shape at all. Norah Gaughan used Cotinga (30% alpaca, 70% fine merino wool) from Dale Garn in shade purple for her Cable and Chevron Top.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 39″ (99cm) to 55″ (139,5cm).

Merry & Bright

Yoko Hatta - Fair Isle Cardigan

Yoko Hatta – Fair Isle Cardigan

This is a colourful lovely design by Yoko Hatta. It is worked flat bottom up to the yoke. Then fronts, back and sleeves are joined and knitted forth and back forming a yoke knitted using fair-isle technique. 7 bright shades of Berroco’s Ultra Alpaca (50% alpaca, 50% wool) are used for this standard-fitting cardigan.
Knitable in 4 sizes from 37″ (94cm) to 49″ (124,5cm) bust closed.

Yoko Hatta - Fair Isle Poncho

Yoko Hatta – Fair Isle Poncho

This Fair Isle Poncho is extraordinaire. It is knitted from the lower edge up to a fair isle yoke. Yoko Hatta used 6 shades of Elfin Tweed (60% merino wool, 20% baby llama, 10% bamboo, 10% donegal) from Knit One, Crochet Too for this design.
Knitable in 2 sizes.
Lower edge 54½” (138,5cm)/57″ (144,5cm)
Length 18″ (45,5cm)/19″(48cm)

Jacqueline van Dillen - Modern Fair Isle Raglan

Jacqueline van Dillen – Modern Fair Isle Raglan

Jacqueline van Dillen designed this standard-fitting pullover for knitting in the round. Both body and sleeves are worked in the round and joined to form a yoke with raglan shaping. Short-row shaping lowers the front neckline. Provisional cast-on is used to form folded hems. This modern fair-isle pullover is shown here in two shades of Lorna’s Laces’ Shepard Worsted (100% superwash merino wool).
Knitable in 4 sizes from 33″ (84cm) to 48″ (122cm) bust closed.

Mari Lynn Patrick - Icelandic-Style Pullover

Mari Lynn Patrick – Icelandic-Style Pullover

This standard-fitting pullover is knitted flat. After the button band is picked up knitted, the pieces are joined to knit the neckband.
This is a crisp looking pullover with an unusual asymmetrical closure. I love it. Mari Lynn Patrick has chosen 5 bright shades of Brown Sheep Company’s Nature Spun Worsted (100% wool) yarn.
Knitable in 3 sizes from 38″ (96,5cm) to 41½” (105,5cm).

Helen Sharp - Sideways Turtleneck

Helen Sharp – Sideways Turtleneck

Another WOW in this issue for Helen Sharp’s Sideway Turtleneck pullover. This standard-fitting pullover is knitted in ONE piece using short-row shaping! Helen Sharp used 4 vibrant shades of Kolláge Yarns’ Happiness Worsted yarn. The stitches for the turtleneck, the cuffs and lower edges are picked up and knitted in a rib pattern.
Knitable in 4 sizes from 35″ (89cm) to 44″ (111,5cm).

Lynette Meek - Fair Isle Scarf

Lynette Meek – Fair Isle Scarf

This oversized scarf by Lynette Meek is featuring double knitted fair-isle and lace, together in one design. Pompoms are added on a crocheted edging. (Well I would skip them!)

Cables, anyone?

Jill Wrigth

Jill Wrigth

“The one accessory you absolutely need this season? The statement scarf. (Christina Behnke)” Yes, Christina, yes. This is an intelligent and lovely design. Love the simple cables running along the scarf. Do you see the increases on the right side of the picture? They are forming a hood, so your ears will stay away from the chilly winds, soon to come! And a great colourway from Kolláge Yarns’ Happiness Worsted.
Finished length 65½”/166,5 cm.

Patty Lyon

Patty Lyon

I do love this design. Great cables on this cropped pullover. It is knitted in Berroco’s Elements. A piece you will wear every day to many occasions.
Knitable in 4 sizes from 34½” (87,5cm) to 46½” (118cm).

Christy Morse

Christy Morse

Lovely cables on this cardigan. I love this big buttons and the two coloured front-bands and hems on the sleeves. although they look a little bit roomy.  It is worked in Cascade’s chainette Cloud. Interesting detail: “The sleeves are picked up from the armholes and worked down. (Christina Behnke)” So you may alter the wide of the sleeves easily.
Knitable in 4 sizes from 38½” (97,5cm) to 47½” (120,5cm) bust buttoned.

Jacqueline van Dillen

Jacqueline van Dillen

Another lovely straight design, colour and cables are great, especially the XO’s. Even the length of the sleeves do not bother me in this design. It is knitted using Zara from Filatura Di Crosa/Tahki⋅Stacy Charles.
Knitable in 4 sizes from 34″ (86cm) to 44″ (111,5cm).

Amy Micallef

Amy Micallef

Hm, I’m not sure. I do love everything on this coat, really.  The cables, the interesting heart-shaped neck-opening, the vents on the lower hem. The solution for the buttonhole-band. Hope it is a success. It is knitted in Simpliworsted from HiKoo/Skacel Collection.
Knitable in 4 sizes from 34″ (86cm) to 44″ (111,5cm).

Yoko Hatta

Yoko Hatta

Also nice wearable idea. This vest with the matching arm warmers. Lovely. Knitted in Rialto DK from Debbie Bliss/KFI.
Vest is knitable in 5 sizes from 34″ (86,5cm) to 50″ (127cm).
Circumference of the arm warmers: 7″/18cm.

Norah Gaughan

Norah Gaughan

I do not think this is a flattering design. The armholes are to deep, the sleeves to short, the funnel-neck looks like, uups, I run out of yarn. But maybe the shown garment is simply to big for the model, maybe. Knitted using Bergère de France’s velvety Pur Mérinos Français.
Knitable in 4 sizes from 39″ (99 cm) to 43″ (109cm).

Shiri Mor

Shiri Mor

This is a great design. I love the idea of this woven cables. Aren’t they looking great! This design is a stunner! Knit it in DK Merino Superwash from Plymout Yarn Co.
Knitable in 4 sizes from 34″ (86,5cm) to 57″ (144,5cm).

Amanda Kaffka

Amanda Kaffka

A big carf meets a big celtic cable, great, but I would have knitted it not in a variegated yarn. Although the colour is lovely the cable detail vanishes. Use a solid shade or a tonal striped yarn for this design. Shown here in Brown Sheep Company’s Lanaloft Bulky.
Finished measurements 8 x 80″/20,5 x 203cm.

Faina Goberstein

Faina Goberstein

This cropped pullover is really fashionable. I do love this colour of Zealana’s Air Marle and I do love the cables and the seed stitch detail on the sleeves. The big cowl is sensational, isn’t it? This garment is smartly designed to knit it in one piece and to be joined at the shoulder seams using a 3-needle bind off. The sleeve bands are knitted separately and sewn on. The stitches for the cowl are picked up along the neck edge.
Knitable in 4 sizes from 34″ (86,5cm) to 46″ (117cm).

7th Avenue Style

Eileen Fisher

Eileen Fisher

Eileen Fisher

Dolman-shaped pullovers are en vogue again. Knitted from sleeve to sleeve, divided for the neck opening using minimal shaping. I do like this simple, yet stunning and wearable design stitched in Sprout from Classic Elite Yarns.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 39″ (99cm) to 55″ (139,5cm).

Wardrobe Essentials

Ashley Rao

Ashley Rao

“Decreases at the crown follow the lines of the main shifting rib chevron pattern, which flows continuously from the uneven rib sequence at the border. (Christina Behnke)” Do you see what Christina is describing? A great design knit this beanie shown here in Jade Sapphire Exotic Fibres’ luscious Mongolian Cashmere 6-Ply to keep your ears warm.
Finished measurements:
Circumference 19″/48,5cm
Length 10″/25,5cm.

Jacqueline van Dillen

Jacqueline van Dillen

This is a must have this season! I love this standard fitting meshy sweater and it’s matching scarf in simple rib. It looks so comfy and warm. It is knitted in Prism’s Merino Mia and kid mohair Gossamer held together.
Knitable in 4 sizes from 37″ (94cm) to 46½” (118cm).

Jacqueline van Dillen

Jacqueline van Dillen

For her voluminous cowl, Jacqueline van Dillen goes big on texture: Wool Clasica from Manos del Uruguay/Fairmount Fibres lends a soft sculptural quality to nubby blackberry stitch. Worked in a minty four-colour block sequence, the cowl is knit in a long strip that’s joined at the ends in finishing.

Also a must have. A big big cowl. This one is knitted using Wool Clasica from Manos del Uruguay/Fairmount Fibres. I do love the pattern and the colours.
Finished measurements
Width 7″/18cm
Circumference 90″/228,5cm

Christy Morse

Christy Morse

I’m not quite a fan of this piece. I do not like this elongated back hem. Although if you skip this detail it may be lovely. I like the dramatic shape of the collar and the simplicity of the pure stockinette stitch accompanied by the rib detail. Clever is also the button closure on the left-side seam. Shown here in Terra from The Fibre Company/Kelbourne Woolens.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 38″ (96,5cm) to 54″ (137cm).

Becky Kimmelstiel

Becky Kimmelstiel

Well what to say to this poncho? I’m not impressed definitely, that’s all. It is knitted in Koigu Wool Designs’ Bulky.
Finished measurements
Circumference 53″/134,5cm
Back length 26″/66cm.

Ellen Liguori

This is great design. I love love love this capelet. The lace pattern is great, the colour is lovely. The drawstring detail adds endless possibilities wearing this piece. It is knitted using Artyarns’ Supermerino.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 38″ (96,5cm) to 54¾” (139cm) circumference measured laying flat.

Margeau Soboti

Margeau Soboti

A mix of five different qualities of Trendsetter Yarns (Merino 6, Kid Seta,  Aura, Dune and La Furla) an intelligent placing of the colours, nice fitting sleeves and a standard fitting shape are used to make this pullover, but nevertheless the result is BORING!
Knitable in 3 sizes from 33″ (83,5cm) to 39″ (99cm).

Pat Olksi

Pat Olksi

A simple long cardigan, knitted on big needles using Rowan’s Tumble. Nice to see a pocket detail and set-in sleeves instead of drop shoulders.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 40″ (101,5cm) to 56″ (142cm) bust closed.

Blanket Statement

Cathy Carron

Cathy Carron

Cathy Carron

Well a lovely idea reflecting the coloured stripes on the body with textured stripes on the sleeves of this pullover. But I do not like it. The colour stripes are dangerously placed and the shawl collar also looks old-fashioned.
But the shawl looks great!
The pullover is knitted using Cascade Yarns’ 220 Superwash Aran the shawl uses matching colours of Cascade’s 220 Superwash.
Pullover knitable in 4 sizes from 35″ (89cm) to 44½” (113cm),
Finished measurements of the shawl 15½ x 82″/39,5 x 208cm.

I love this cardigan not only for its zipper closure. The simplicity of stockinette stitch is highlighted by embroidered broad front bands. Great design, knitted using Imperial Yarn’s Erin Worsted.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 36″ (91,5cm) to 51″ (129,5cm).

Marie Wallin

Marie Wallin

This is a colourful lovely design using fair-isle technique. But wait, do you see the purl stitches? They are added depth and interest to the pattern used on front and back. The sleeves are knitted in a stripe sequence. A lovely neck opening completes this stunning design. It is stitched in Rowan’s Alpaca Colour with Kid Classic.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 38″ (96,5cm) to 55″ (139,5cm).

Pat Olski

Pat Olski

This could also be an essential. This design is truly versatile and the patterns are interesting. I love it. Also do I love the construction of this garment, it is worked flat in one piece! It is stitched in Knit one, Crochet Too’s Meadow Silk.
Knitable in 4 sizes from 35″ (89cm) to 47″ (119,5cm).

The Jet Set

Patty Lyon

Patty Lyon

Stripes are on trend in this season.  Patty Lyon clever uses alternating stockinette stitch and mesh-lace stripes to follow  this trend. The arms grows out of the body for a dolman shape, the sleeves are sewn on to the body during finishing. This is really fresh and lovely looking design. It is knitted using Summer Breeze (50% linen, 45% cotton, 5% polyamide) from Mango Moon.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 36″ (91,5cm) to 52″ (132cm)

Abigail Phelp

Abigail Phelp

In this design I love the upper part, the cap sleeves and the eyelet-detail are superb. But for my taste there is to much mesh below, maybe shorten it a little bit? It is worked in Cotton DK (100% cotton) from Debbie Bliss/KFI. And skip that cowl, ok!
Knitable in 4 sizes from 31″ (78,5cm) to 38″ (96,5cm).

Margeau Soboti

Margeau Soboti

Sweet little T. Flattering shape and supporting mesh pattern on front and back. A versatile piece you can wear every day. It is knitted in Blue Sky Alpacas’ smooth Skinny Cotton (100% organic cotton).
Knitable in 4 sizes from 32″ (48,5cm) to 43″ (52,5cm).

Theresa Schabes

Theresa Schabes

This cropped cardigan is beautiful. The diamond lace pattern is lovely and fresh. The contrasting black frontbands following the monochromatic trend are new-fashioned. It is worked in Knit One, Crochet Too’s Babyboo (45% bamboo, 55% nylon).
Knitable in 3 sizes from 34″ (86,5cm) to 42″ (106,5cm)

Kristina McGowan

Kristina McGowan

A very relaxed pullover, you will wear every day. Simple yet stunning. Worked in Seda-Mar (88% silk, 12% nylon) from Schulana/Skacel Collection.
Knitable in 4 sizes from 35½” (90cm) to 46″ (117cm).

Mary Beth Temple

Well this is a piece you will knit once and never again, and you will wear it once and never again. Maybe you stare at it in abstraction like I do, but finally skip the desire to put  tons of workload in this piece for one single moment. It is knitted using Cascade Yarns’ Heritage Silk (85% merino super wash wool, 15% mulberry silk).
Knitable in 1 size 32″ (81,5cm) bust.

Jacqueline van Dillen

Jacqueline van Dillen

Drama baby, Drama, that’s it. Maybe it is the colour (looks like a piece you wear at a funeral) or it are the drop shoulders (reminding me on “Dynasty”). The pattern is lovely, though. It is worked in Flax (100% linen) from Fibra Natura/Universal Yarn.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 38″ (96,5cm) to 52″ (132cm).

Ann Regis

Ann Regi

This design is beautiful and the zipper closure is so much fun on this jacket. Great design from Ann Regi. It is worked in Schachenmayr Original’s Cotton Time (100% cotton). And have a look on these pockets!
Knitable in 5 sizes from 32½” (82,5cm) to 48″ (122cm).

designing Woman – Tanya Taylor

Tanya Taylor

Tanya Taylor

Well the back and sleeves are good, the front to much action going on there. It is knitted using  Merinogold (100% virgin wool merino extrafine, machine washable) from Grignasco Knits/Plymouth Yarn Company.
Knitable in4 sizes from 34″ (86,5cm) to 46″ (117cm).

smooth Operator

Wei Wilkins

Wei Wilkins

Isn’t it beautiful? No more words to add. Shown here in Serena (60% baby alpaca, 40% pima cotton) from Manos del Uruguay/Fairmount Fibres.
Finished measurements 8 x 65″/20,5 x 165cm.

Melissa Leapman

Melissa Leapman

This standard-fitting tunic is also a lovely little piece you won’t miss in your wardrobe. The “graceful wing lace pattern, which creates an overall lengthening effect (Christina Behnke)”. It is knitted in Artyarns’ Regal Silk (100% silk).
Knitable in 5 sizes from 34½” (87,5cm) to 54″ (137cm).

Marie Wallin

Marie Wallin

The sleeves of this T are “growing” out of the body a lace pattern and stripes in 3 shades of Rowan’s Kidsilk Haze (70% super kid mohair, 30% silk) completes this wearable design.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 36″ (91,5cm) to 50½” (128cm).

Faina Goberstein

Faina Goberstein

Now, I’m biased, when it comes to lace. I love it. That’s it. So…..

The above design is knitted in Jade Sapphire Exotic Fibres’ Sylph (58% cashmere, 42% linen).
Finished measurements 7 x 60″/18 x 152,5cm (blocked).

The design below is knitted in Meadow (40% merino, 25% baby llama, 20% silk, 15% linen) from the Fibre Co./Kelbourne Woolens.
Finished measurements 8 x 60″/20,5 x 152,5cm.

Wei Wilkins

Wei Wilkins

See above! This shawl is knitted in Zealana’s Kiwi Lace Weight (40% fine New Zealand merino, 30% organic cotton, 30% brushtail possum).
Finished measurements 9 x 64″/23 x 162,5cm.

Shiri Mor

Shiri Mor

Now this is what I call a piece of art. Put it in a showroom and look at it but don’t wear it, you get tangled up with the furniture! Don’t get me wrong I love this idea but it is simply unpractical.
Shown her in Berroco’s lightweight Weekend Chunky (75% acrylic, 25% cotton).
Knitable in 3 sizes from 33½” (85cm) to 40½” (103cm) bust size.

Colour-Block Punch!

Mari Lynn Patrick

Mari Lynn Patrick

“A rolled edge defines the drop waist (Christina Behnke)”, skip this and the dress will look good. I love the skirt and the colourblock detail on top. It is knitted in Brilla (58% viscose, 42% cotton) from Filatura di Crosa/Tahki Stacy Charles.
Knitable in 3 sizes from 33″ (84cm) to 36½” (92,5cm).

Courtney Cedarholm

Courtney Cedarholm

A wearable design, simple and stylish, love the eyelet detail on the raglan armholes. I would have chosen other colours of Dolcino (75% acrylic, 25% nylon) from Trendsetter Yarns.
Knitable in 4 sizes from 37½” (95cm) to 49″ (124,5cm).

Laura Zukaite

Laura Zukaite

“A carefree day deserves a casually chic knit. (Christina Behnke)”. Nothing to add, great colours, simple shape, a top for every day, knitted using Tencel Tape (100% tencel) from Prism.
Knitable in 4 sizes from 37″ (94cm) to 49″ (124,5cm).

Pat Olski

Pat Olski

This design in brilliant colours is  knitted in different lace pattern using intarsia technique separated by stripes of stockinette stitch. The side seams of this long vest are only seamed for about 2″ (5cm) the rest is unseamed. Very relaxed and extraordinary. It is knitted in three shades of Pearl (51% silk, 49% bamboo) from Lorna’s Laces.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 33″ (84cm) to 49″ (124,5cm).

Mari Lynn Patrick

Mari Lynn Patrick

Nice, simple, interesting, knit it in Kolláge Yarns’ Milky Whey (50% milk, 50% soy).
Knitable in 4 sizes from 33″ (84cm) to 39″ (99cm).

Jeannie Chin

Jeannie Chin

The textured fabric of Jeannie Chin’s patchwork pullover drapes just so in Brown Sheep Company’s Cotton Fleece (80% cool cotton, 20% resilient wool). Each stitch pattern – bamboo, trinity, spine and granite relief – is worked in one of the four colours, throughout the intarsia body and striped sleeves. The wide crew neck and modified drop shoulders effect a sweatshirt shape. Twisted rib defines the collar, cuffs and vented hem.

Front and back of this pullover are work in intarsia technique. The different patterns adds interesting structure to this garment. I like it. It is knitted using Brown Sheep Company’s Cotton Fleece (80% cool cotton, 20% resilient wool).
Knitable in 5 sizes from 34½” (87,5cm) to 51½” (130,5cm).

Cool comfort

Deborah Newton

Deborah Newton

A nice, wearable hoodie, with an interesting pattern. The colours are beautiful chosen. Great: the vents at the elbows and lower hems and the pocket.
Knitable in 6 sizes from 35″ (68,5cm) to 53½” (136cm).

Jacqueline van Dillen

Jacqueline van Dillen

I love this hooded raglan pullover design! It has great lace cables on front and back. The kangaroo pockets complete this design. It is knitted using Koigu Wool Designs’ soft Kersti Merino Crêpe (100% merino wool).
Knitable in 5 sizes from 35½” (90cm) to 51½” (130,5cm).

Melissa Leapman

Melissa Leapman

Well, the mesh is to much, really! A great idea with the zipper closing is spoiled with this meshy lace. It is knitted using  Anna (70% imperial wool, 30% U.S. cotton) from Imperial Yarn.
Knitable in 6 sizes from 33″ (84cm) to 52″ (132cm).

Yoko Hatta

Yoko Hatta

This is elegance! Subtle A-shape, subtle eyelet pattern, subtle colour. Très chic! It is shown here in Bergereine (50% combed wool, 50% cotton) from Bergère der France.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 36″ (91,5cm) to 52″ (132cm).

VOGUEknitting Winter 2013/14 – A review

VOGUEknitting Winter 2013/14 is on my bookshelf and it is coming with 28 Luxe Layers to knit now!

It is also featuring the renaissance of the legendary “Tudor Roses” by Alice Starmore, Meg Swanson gives some advice how to finish your knitted garments, in “Accident or Design?” Deborah Newton ist talking about how to knit a well-shaped level, Rebecca Klasses does an interview with Tara Stiles, founder of Strala Yoga and Daryl Bower is telling us how a phone call from Ralph Lauren design team gave an Oregon ranch a front-row seat at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

The Heat Is On!

“The new chic. This winter see and be seen in knits that are sleek and bold. Winter’s fires (and furnaces) are blazing. Your best bet for a no-sweat quick knit? Lose the sleeves and layer it on, baby.”: VogueKnitting puts on more coal!

Double-Breasted Vest by Laura Zukaite

Double-Breasted Vest by Laura Zukaite

This double-breasted vest is breathtaking. The cable details and the zipper closure are adding great interest to this garment. It is knitted using Wisdom Yarns/Universal YarnPoems Silk Solids (25% silk, 75% wool) in shade Sterling.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 31″ (78,5cm) to 47″ (119,5cm)

Sleeveless Turtle-Neck by Cheryl Murray

Sleeveless Turtle-Neck by Cheryl Murray

Stunning fair-isle technique knitted traditionally in the round and using steeks finishing it. If you never have done a fair-isle sweater in this manner, this is a good choice to get used to this fabulous technique. I love the colours and the modern look of this vest with its turtleneck. It is knitted using Zealana‘s Kauri Worsted Weight (60% fine New Zealand merino, 10% mulberry silk, 30% brush tail possum).
Knitable in 5 sizes from 36″ (91,5cm) to 52,75″ (134cm).

Ultra-deep V-neck vest by Melissa Leapman

Ultra-deep V-neck vest by Melissa Leapman

This is what I call intelligent use of slipped stitches. A deep v-neck and the oversize design makes this vest to a garment you will wear every day. The body is worked in two shades of  Imperial Yarn‘s Anna (70% wool, 30% cotton), whereas the neckband is knitted using Imperial Yarn Erin Worsted 3-Ply (100% wool).
Knitable in 4 sizes from 40″ (101,5cm) to  51″ (129,5cm).

Zippered Vest by Amy Micallef

Zippered Vest by Amy Micallef

“Equal parts intergalactic amazon an film noir glamazon. (Christina Behnke)” Well that’s true, this is from outer space and should stay there! Unless you are not playing a main role in some intergalactic soap opera. Maybe if you cut the lower part it will look flattering, but I’m constantly asking myself: “What is she trying to hide? A tail?” This vest is knitted in Bergère de France Alaska (50% acrylic, 50% combed wool).
Knitable in 2 sizes 36″ (91,5cm) and 44″ (111,5cm)

Tunic Length vest - by Theresa Schabes

Christina says: “These tunic length vest featuring geometric garter squares, a stand-up neck, side slits and partial zipper closing. Theresa Schabes designed this vest using Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Aran (100% super wash merino wool).”

I say: “Well, no! This is also intergalactial, you are looking like Tin Man from “The wizard of Oz” wearing this. This is a more than unflattering design. It is knitted in Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Aran (100% super wash merino wool).
Knitable in 3 sizes from 39″ (94cm) to 43″ (104cm) bust closed.

Motor  Trends – A soft new take on a ’50s Classic

“The test of a true classic is its longevity across time and trends – and that’s why designers turn again and again to the moto jacket. Effortlessly cool, this statement-making silhouette is also endlessly adaptable.”: VOGUEknitting is quething!

Moto Coat by Deborah Newton

Moto Coat by Deborah Newton

I love this design called Moto Coat. The essential pocket, the zipper details. Wow. “Designed in Zara Plus (100% extra fine merino wool) from Filatura di Crosa/Tahki Stacy Charles. (Christina Behnke)”

Knitable in 5 sizes from 36″ (91,5) to 52″ (132cm).

Gilded Pleasures

Ribbed Yoke Pullover by Zahra Jade Knott

Ribbed Yoke Pullover by Zahra Jade Knott

This is lovely, this is feminine, this is mysterious! The dolman sleeves and the deep hems are stunning and make this design to an eye-catcher. “Zahra Jade Knott works a stranded mesh pattern with two yarns – Prism’s worsted weight Symphony (80% merino, 10% cashmere, 10% nylon) and fine mohair Gossamer (80% kid mohair, 20% nylon) – to create her pullover’s multifaceted fabric. (Christina Behnke)”

Open Cardigan by Barry Klein

Open Cardigan by Barry Klein

Well that’s fashion! Simplicity meets gorgeousness. Gorgeous is also the yarn used in this cardigan: Lotus Yarns/Trendsetter Yarns‘ Mimi Hand Dyed (100% mink).
Knitable in 2 sizes 14″ (35,5cm) and 15″ (38cm) measured back from underarm to underarm.

Easy Does It

Short-Sleeve Jacket by Mari Lynn Patrick

Short-Sleeve Jacket by Mari Lynn Patrick

I like this oversized and comfy looking jacket with its short sleeves. It is stylish and has a fresh and natural look. The colours are chosen well. It is knitted in Schulana/Skacel Collection’s Royalalpaca (78% royal alpaca, 22% silk).
Knitable in 4 sizes from 43″ (109cm) to 52″ (132cm) bust closed.

Deep V Hoodie by Margeau Sobott

Deep V Hoodie by Margeau Sobott

“Margeau Sobott’s pullover hoodie sports stripes on the back and sleeves, which are picked up from the armhole and knit down. The hood is picked up from the neck edge and shaped with short rows. Leave the ribbed lower hem unseamed to create side vents. Margeau Sobott designs this pullover using ” writes Christina.

Simply yet stunning. I love the striped sleeves on this pullover with hoodie. Maybe I would add pockets. This design is knitted using Plymouth Yarn Co.‘s Baby Alpaca Brush (80% baby alpaca, 20% acrylic).
Knitable in 5 sizes from 38″ (96,5cm) to 54″ (137cm).

Sandal Socks by Lori Steinberg

Sandal Socks by Lori Steinberg

Nice little socks, but I would not wear it for gymnastic because they are shown here in Artyarns‘ Cashmere Sock Yarn (67% cashmere, 25% wool, 8% nylon).
Knitable for foot circumference 9,25″ (23,5cm)

Slouchy Hat by Holli Yeoh

A little slouchy hat in a simple pattern, thats great! Shown here in Kolláge Yarns‘ Fantastic (100% merino wool).

Knitable in 2 sizes 6,5″ (16,5cm) and 7,5″ (19cm) hand/wrist circumference.

Frost Flower – A top essential for the season

Puritan-collar pullover by Cathy Carron

Puritan-collar pullover by Cathy Carron

Well, no! Is this an accident or what? Cut it open to make a shrug, modify the sleeves and make them close fitting and change this old-fashioned collar! “This design is knitted using Montera (50% llama, 50% wool) from Classic Elite Yarns (Christina Behnke)“.
Knitable in 4 sizes from 44″ (111,5cm) to 56″ (142cm).

Raglan-Yoke cardigan by Cathy Carron

Raglan-Yoke cardigan by Cathy Carron

Well a nice idea for a topdown pullover, but not really impressive. But I have to admit: the colours are great! “It is knitted using Brushed Mohair (100% baby mohair) from Be Sweet. (Christina Behnke)”
Knitable in 4 sizes from 37″ (94cm) to 47″ (119,5cm).

Snug poncho by Cathy Carrons

Snug poncho by Cathy Carrons

I love this poncho with its eye-catching drop-stitch lace pattern and its turtleneck in a contrast colour. And the matching arm warmers, aren’t they cute? Both the poncho and the arm warmers are knitted using Blue Sky Alpacas‘s Bulky (50% alpaca, 50% wool).
The poncho is knitable in 2 sizes 36″ (91,5cm) and 41″ (104cm) bust slightly streched and
the arm warmers are also knitable in 2 sizes 8″ (20,5cm) and 9″ (23cm) circumference slightly streched.

Wrapfront shrug by Cathy Carron

Wrap-front shrug by Cathy Carron

Well this is a nice idea. This design looks lovely with its infinity shawl like wrap-front. The arms should be a little bit narrower for my personal taste. This design by Cathy Carron is knitted in Rowan’s Kid Classic (Lambswool 70%, Kid Mohair 22%, Polyamide 8%).
Knitable in 3 sizes from 37″ (94cm) to 46,5″ (118cm).

Cozy little luxuries

Ombré caplet by Louisa Harding

Ombré caplet by Louisa Harding

This design by Louisa Harding is featuring her yarn Luzia (80% viscose, 20% nylon). This caplet looks lovely with its ribbon detail, but who would wear it, I ask?
Knitable in 1 size 48″ (122cm) width at lower edge.

Keyhole scarf and shaped capelet by Louisa Harding (top) Cowl by Louisa Harding (bottom)

Keyhole scarf and shaped capelet by Louisa Harding (top)

It’s the same here: “Who would wear this? A scarf, a cowl, a caplet in Louisa Harding/KFI Luzia (80% viscose, 20% nylon).
All three items knitable in 1 size.

Basso-Relievo

Crescant Blanket by Guiletta Yordonova

VOGUEknitting Holiday 2013 – A review

VOGUEknitting Holiday 2013 comes with is on the bookshelf and I want to do a review of this magazine. Actually I’m always thrilled when a new VOGUEknitting is published, this time the elegance of the designs and the great pattern are revealed after a second look.

VOGUEknitting Holiday 2013 shows 25 designs and has 5 different themes

  • Femmes Fatales
  • Gossamer Mystique
  • Color Play
  • Fiber Optics
  • Make a Weekend of it!

Here are the designs. Enjoy and have a second look!

Femmes fatales

Irina Poludnenko

Irina Poludnenko

This lace yoke pullover with it’s flattering side shaping is a sparkling eye catcher in your wardrobe. I do especially love the intarsia detail on the front, unfortunately hidden behind the necklace. Knitted in “Trendsetter Yarns whiskered “Twiggy” and sequined “Luna“, using both yarns held  together for the body and two strands of “Luna” held together for the bodice and set-in sleeves (Christina Behnke)”.
Knitable in 5 sizes: 36″ (91,5cm) to 53″ (134,5cm).

Christina Behnke

Christina Behnke

I like this clever unusual construction. Alternating stripes in of knit and purl rows form the pattern. This and the supporting short rows creates a flattering garment. The turtleneck collar beautifully contrasts the sleeveless design! “Christina Behnke uses welted stripes of “Cashmerino Aran” and “Party Angel” from Debbie Bliss (Christina Behnke)”
Knitable in 4 sizes 32″ (81cm) to 47,5″ (120,5cm) measured slightly strechted.

Shiri Mor

Shiri Mor

This jacket is for someone who likes to try out modular techniques. Well, I’m not that impressed about these techniques. It looks like they are created for people who want to show how good they are in finishing techniques. I never ever saw a design that really works.  In this design I especially do not like the triangles below the arms. Also the crochet joinings in a thicker yarn are a little bit to much for my personal taste. And does the front opening bands and hems are really looking good? I would use Lorna’s Laces silky “Helen’s Lace” and “Shepherd Worsted” to knit something else.
Knitable in 4 sizes 33,5″ (85cm) to 40″ (101,5 cm) measured with bust closed.

Lori Steinberg

Lori Steinberg

I like the idea and I like the lace, but I do not like the result. I guess it is the variegation of the lace yarn. I would have used either the same colour as used in the stockinette-stitch bands or a completely different colour, but both not variegated. This short-sleeved sweater is knitted in “Manos del Uruguay “Silk Blend” alternate with fields of simple mini-leaf lace, knit in  Manos’s sumptuous alpaca/silk/cashmere “Lace” (Christina Behnke)”.
Knitable in 5 sizes 32″ (81cm) to 49″ (124,5cm).

Laura Zukaite

Laura Zukaite

Well, the design starts great on the hem and it’s rib pattern, but loses the day in the upper part. I think such a design with this keyhole opening needs a plain pattern for only wearing a bra. The shell pattern forces the wearer to slip into a shirt (as seen in the picture). Not that charming, really. I would have done the body in stockinette or a not so open lace pattern, but who am I. Knitted in “Artyarns’ luscious “Supermerino“, incorporating “Silk Mohair Glitter” throughout (Christina Behnke)” the ribbed hem worked in the round.
Knitable in 3 sizes from 32″ (81cm) to 48″ (123cm) with keyhole pinned close.

Gossamer Mystique

Zabeth Loisel-Weiner

Zabeth Loisel-Weiner

Terrific, the pattern is great, the construction is superb, a must knit for every lover of lace. Zabeth Loisel-Werner used “Silky Alpaca Lace” for this great triangular lace shawl.
Width approx 58″/147cm
Length at centre 28″/71cm

Brooke Nico

Brooke Nico

A lovely garter stitch shawl in a triangular shape. Simple yet stunning patterns create a perfect shawl. The “wavy” edging is beautiful. “Knit in Jade Sapphire Exotic Fibres’ soft and springy “Lacey Lamb” (Christina Behnke)”.
Width approx 62″/157,5cm
Length at center 21″/53,5cm

Manda Shah

Manda Shah

Another lovely shawl, worked from the tool edge down.  I would have chosen another colour, but this is my personal taste. A must have for someone who loves straight and geometric patterns. Knit one, Crochet too’s “Cria Lace” is the yarn this triangular shawl is knitted in.
Width approx 60″/152,5cm
Length at center 30″/76cm

Zabeth Loisel-Weiner

Zabeth Loisel-Weiner

Simply yes, to the lace, to the bubbles, to the construction, to the colour. A masterpiece, performed by Zabeth Loisel-Werner, who uses “Filigran” from Zitron for this triangular shawl.
Width approx 46″/117cm
Length at center 22″/56cm

It is so true what is written on this picture ‘After the glitter fades, the beauty of lace remains.’ This shawl is great, the colour is chosen well for this ‘whip on’! This is a piece you will miss! “Stitched in Zealana’s heavenly “Air” (Christina Behnke)”.
Width approx 68″/172,5cm
Length at center 40″/101,5cm

Be game enough to wear it (and knit it)! It is simply gorgeous. I’m sure you will have as much fun knitting this pieces as wearing it. You will force everyone to for you! The dress is knitted in “Kersti Merino Crepe” from Koigu and the socks are knitted in matching colours of Koigu’s “KPM“.
The dress is knitable in 3 sizes 34″ (86,5cm) to 45″(114cm).
The knee socks are knitable in 2 sizes 10,5″ (26,5cm) and 14” (35.5cm) calf circumference.

“Jacqueline van Dillen’s boxy jacket has both a Fifties sensibility and a modern vibe.  The pointed flat collar is worked separately in garter stripes. Knitted button covers add polish.” Christina says.

I love this design, it is hypnotic, psychedelic and truly dizzying (in a positive way). Everything fits, the shape, the length, the tailored sleeves. And I love the knitted button covers. They shine! “Worked in allover stranded colourwork in Cascade Yarns’ “220 Superwash“, the body and set-in sleeves are knit flat and later seamed. (Christina Behnke)”
Knitable in 5 sizes from 36″ (91,5cm) to 50″ (127cm) bust closed.

I say why not:  unusual colour combination meets brilliant pattern. So lets knit it, but stop there is one drop of bitterness in this design: the length of the sleeves and the corrugated ribbing on them! Skip both design elements! Make full length sleeves or short sleeves and quit the corrugated rib. (Even the model looks like she is forced to wash the dishes!) This “stranded colourwork pops in Blue Sky Alpacas’ “Worsted Hand Dyes” (Christina Behnke)”.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 32″ (81cm) to 49″ (124,5cm)

Somethings wrong with this picture! And it is not the skirt, I like the idea and it is nice. But I have to ask one question: ‘Who has dressed this model? Nothing and I mean nothing fits together. But back to the skirt: I hope the fabric has enough memory or you only will sit down once! This pencil skirt is worked in Kolláge Yarns’ “Fantastic” yarn.
Knitable in 4 sizes:
Waist 26,5″ (67,5cm) to 37″ (94cm)
Hip 32,5″ (82,5cm) to 44″ (111,5cm)

I say (again): “Who dressed this model?” The pullover is great, it’s a piece you will wear every day, if you want. As Christina Behnke mentions, “the bold stripes on the side and raglan seams adds further interest to this garment”.  The colours shown here are beautiful and it will also look good in different colourways, too. This pullover is “worked in Bergère de France’s “Pure Nature” (Christina Behnke).
Knitable in 6 sizes from 34″ (94cm) to 46,5″ (118cm)

I like the cable detail on this design, but would add a little bit of length, lets say 1″ (2,5cm) at the hem. “Knit in “Simplicity” from HiKoo, it features full-fashioned waist shaping and contrast-colour ribbing on the neck, cuffs and lower hem. (Christina Behnke)”.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 34″ (86,5cm) to 50″ (127cm)

Well, a little bit dotted, isn’t it. And it looks like the sleeves are to short, but maybe this is an accident? “knit in “Zara Chine” from Filatura Di Crosa, seem suspended in midair on a background of charcoal “Zara” (Christina Behnke)”.

Make a Weekend of it!

Cosy, cosy. A piece you will wear all day long and it really “makes your weekend” ! I do especially love the trumpet looking sleeves, which are worked straight (!) and the big big cowl. A beautiful and relaxed design. It “is knit with minimal shaping in Cascade Yarns’ undyed, self-striping “Eco Duo” (Christina Behnke)”.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 39″ (111,5cm) to 55″ (139,5cm)

Clever intended pooling forms the fabric of this tunic worked sideways. Stripes are en vogue and the hems are knitted in one of my favourite stitches. What a great design. But watch your gauge! It is knitted in Prism’s “Symphony” a hand-painted yarn.
Knitable in 5 sizes: 35″ (89cm) to 48″ (122cm).

A classic and a piece you will love for years to come. It looks so cosy. The cable patterns adds interest to both knitting and at last wearing it. And the shawl collar is fantastic. Beautiful! And most of all: it has pockets, great! “Cotton-mottled “Anna” from Imperial Yarn lends a soft patina to the allover patterning (Christina Behnke)”.
Knitable in 4 sizes from 40″ (101,5cm) to 56″ (142cm) bust closed.

Wear this throw as a wrap, do it. It looks fantastic. I love the pattern and I love the drape. A timeless design. “Plymouth Yarn Co.’s “Baby Alpaca Aire” chainette forms a soft, lightweight fabric. (Christina Behnke)”.
Finished measurements approx 50″ x 60″ (127 x 152,5cm)

I’m not quite sure if I like it or not. Well I like the cables, I like the shape but I do not like the closure. It looks simply like another futile design element without any function? Does it close the cardigan? Not really! Does it look flattering this way? Not really! So why adding three buttons which has no function at all and spoil the result? Don’t know. It is knitted using “the elegant shades of self-stiping “Poems Silk” from Wisdom Yarns. (Christina Behnke)”.
Knitable in 5 sizes 36″ (91,5cm) to 52″ (132cm) with fronts slightly overlapped.

This design reminds me of the ’80s: Dolman sleeves, knitted sideways, love it. The body is knitted bottom up and sewn on the insert. The pattern is a little bit overwhelming with all the different cables. “Tanja Steinbach knit her dolman-sleeve darling in Schachenmayer Select’s “Trend Deluxe” (Christina Behnke)”.
Knitable in 4 sizes (32″ (81cm) to 48″ (122cm) bust under dolman sleeve.

A simple shape, a stunning pattern and three-quarter length sleeves, that is what I like. A everyday, wearable garment, that is the speciality of Sarah Hatton’s designs,  throughout! This one is knitted in Rowan Yarns “Cocoon“.
Knitable in 5 sizes from 34″ (86,5cm) to 50” (127cm)

Look at these cables! Aren’t they gorgeous, “split climbing cable, mirrored on the back (Christina Behnke)” are forming this A-line shaped pullover. This pullover not only looks comfy, it has a clever and eye catching construction. A piece you will love to wear. It is knitted in Berroco’s “Voyage” yarn.
Knitable in 5 sizes form 33″ (84cm) to 49″ (124,5cm).
