Early spring is here and we have already passed the equinox on Sunday. Easter is around the corner and in fact the easter holidays have started here in Southern Germany today. The crocuses and jonquils are opening their eyes to the warmer sun. And one German name for jonquil is Osterglocke (Easter bell) and so they are right in time.
This is also the time of year you are thinking of lighter garments. The aran-weight pullovers are getting to warm during daytime but it is still not warm enough for summer garments. It is still chilly in the morning and among the shades. It is time for a between-season wear.
This year I found the perfect yarn for this purpose: Rowan Alpaca Merino DK.
It is light-weighted like a feather but warm enough for chilly days and so I decided to look for a colour, which is on trend for spring. I have had some difficulties to choose one, because there were three shades which I really liked for my garment. I also thought of using all three in block stripes, but at least I go for one colour: Uppingham.
For the design I wanted to have something easy, with no frills. It should be something I’m able to wear every day. So I decided to go for a roll-back pullover in plain stockinette stitch with a simple k1, p1 rib.
Here is the result:
A Happy Easter Season to all of you and happy knitting!
Toll ! So schön gestrickt in einer tollen Farbe !
Das kann der Frühling nicht übersehen !
Liebe und ehrfurchtsvolle Grüsse

Gorgeous yarn, love the shade you picked…..great sweater!
Nice colour, Konrad. Beautifully knitted.
I love it Konrad, your work is very neat. Good choice of colour, which really suits you. I like simple garments, they are my kind of thing.
As always your knits are amazing! I agree with Jenny Royall.
You chose the colour of crocus, a perfect choice for Spring. Here in Montreal, the Spring is early but the wind is still icy cold. I spotted the first crocus on my lawm yesterday. I wish I could knit as fast as you and whip up a lovely spring sweater like yours, but I’m still working at my winter Aran. Beautiful work, as always.
Beautiful color! And I love the simple sleek style. Another winner.
That is a gorgeous color on you. I used the same color for a sweater and love it! It’s a great yarn and so soft against the skin; I know I’ll be using it again. Your details and finishing are perfect as usual and make your sweater to be another masterpiece. xo
Beautiful!
Really good seams and finishing! I can’t claim to be as patient as you with that!
