Into this muddy coastline
the North Sea seeps silently
twice a day
under the kestrel’s weather eyein the growing puddles
gulls drill the marsh
for nothing we can see
or screech their territory
like fishwives
from the tops of poleseven in August
the sky drowns us
in small drops
settling on hair and eyes
wanting us flying in it
or grovelling in the ooze
at the water’s edgeI died in this country
and came back
to pay my debts
to its wetlandssomething fishes me
all the way
back to where it beganand is beginning again
down the years
with a million denials.
5 ~ Morston by Martin Storey
Morston by Martin Storey is knitted using Rowan Creative Linen and is showing a stunning all-over cable pattern. It is a longer-length sweater for a relaxed day.
I love this design for its stunning cable-pattern.
This is one of my favourite designs – you can somehow just smell the salty air!
Time and time again Martin Storey proves he is a genius. Wish someone would knit me this cable sweater !
Totally agree with Jennifer Chung!
Love this area of Norfolk and love those sweaters too!
They are gorgeous!
