Last week I talked about my Kohatu shawl from the Rowan brochure Simple Shapes Fine Art & Fine Lace.
Today I want to show you my Merkur from this brochure.
It is also an easy knit and is creating a lovely garter stitch shawl with a lace edging.
This shawl is knitted sideways and the slightly curved shape is created with increases and decreases within the garter stitch section.
The lace edging is knitted with the main garter stitch section, so no sewing or knitting on is necessary.
Sarah Hatton designed Merkur in the new green shade Marten 004 of Rowan Fine Art. I used 1 skein of shade Hornbeam 311 from my stash.
Here is the result:
Here is a close up of the lace edge:
And here it is already around my neck!
Happy knitting!
Love the colour! Matches your eyes. How many yards did you use?
I used one ball of Rowan Fine Art. I have a little left, so I guess about 400 yards.
Gorgeous. Oh, and the shawl is nice too! Can’t wait to see you!
Beautiful shawl and beautiful colour!
Joli couleur et bien porté en plus ! Magnifique Konrad 😉
Konrad, this is just beautiful. I really love the green shade you chose. Maginificent.
