Marie Wallin, well-known for her sense of colour and her intuition for great designs, has released Filigree her third collection of designs early this year.
With this collection of 10 crochet designs for women Marie Wallin once again shows her sublime ability for atemporal nevertheless contemporary fashion.
To fuel the sophisticated look of the designs, she ignores any colour and used only two shades of Rowan Summerlite 4ply – Pure White and Washed Linen – in this collection.
This collection is a real treat to the eyes and I enjoy every single design. They are truly feminine and supremely elegant. They are wearable and not mundane at all. Marie herself describes this collection as “simply a celebration for crochet” and continues the “10 openwork designs reflects the true elegance of this traditional craft.
In some designs Marie Wallin uses a combination of knit and crochet. She used white and pale grey as “the quintessence of summer colours to show the authentic beauty of the crochet stitches”.
I think she is absolutely right.
Hollyhock
Lupin
Aster
Daisy
Buttercup
Anemone
Peony
Rose
Carnation
