
My second autumn knit this year is a design by Brandon Mably from Rowan Knitting & Crochet Magazine 54 from last year. It is knitted in Rowan Colourspun a soft wool and mohair blended yarn. It is easy to knit with and its subtle self-striping effect is great for fair-isle designs without changing a lot of colours.
This design is a free download for all Rowan Members and is available in several languages.
Brandon Mably used Rowan Colourspun in shade Winterburn 277 and Hubberholme 277 for his design.
I have used shade Pen-Y-Ghent 275 from my stash instead of Hubberholme.
Balkan is knitted flat in fair-isle technique and is showing a lovely vertical zig-zag pattern filled with squares.
