The Knitting & Stitching Show

The Knitting & Stitching Show at the Alexandra Palace in London will open one’s doors very soon.

Due to public demand this time the Knitting & Stitching Show at the AllyPally will last 5 days and will therefore start already on Wednesday, October 8th and will last until Sunday, October 12th.

As you all know the Knitting & Stitching Show at the Alexandra Palace is the largest and most highly regarded textiles and craft event in the UK. It is the perfect place to find inspiration, shop for all your essential supplies and learn new skills.

This time there are more than 220 classes and the Knitting & Stitching Show is introducing 3-hours and full day workshops.

And there will be a programme of lectures from leading experts including Sandy Black, Debbie Bliss, Jan Beaney and Jean Littlejohn, taking about what inspires them and how they evolve this inspirations to their final design. To download the full timetable of Lectures you may look here.

 

New this time is also the ‘Stitch-by-Stitch’ feature. This feature brings together the UK’s leading experts in knitting, crochet and beadwork, embroidery, sewing and weaving. There will be interactive demonstrations to inspire and educate crafters. Different free-to-attend demonstration areas will encourage you to look at experts at work, ask questions and have a go themselves.

Coats Crafts UK will again present a daily Fashion Show in Alexandra Palace, featuring garments from the current Rowan Magazine. For my personal TOP TEN of this magazine you may look here. But you will also have a look at the designs dedicated to the new yarns for this season: Fazed Tweed (Marie Wallin), Brushed Fleece (Martin Storey) and Big Wool Colour (Lisa Richardson)!

Patons will introduce the Merino Extrafine family of yarns, featuring classic knits. 45 stunning shades are available in four different yarn weights (4ply, DK, Aran, Big).

The newest, long awaited designs of Kim Hargreaves will also be on the catwalk.
