This is another KAL with Kristen and myself, trying to knit the same pattern in different styles. Kristen is knitting the pattern for herself and I try to change the pattern into a design a man may also wear.
Now this time we wanted to knit a pattern from the Rowan Brochure Truesilk Collection, which is featuring 15 truly silken and truly female designs by Martin Storey.

This time Kristen has chosen Solitaire for this KAL. It is knitted in Rowan Truesilk (100% silk).
Boy, this is truly a silken call out, Kristen! This pattern is truly feminine! How should I change it to fit for a man?
Is there a way to get out? If so, please tell!
Ok how about knitting in some stripes instead of the lace pattern on the collar and cuffs and hem, or alternately a basket stitch pattern!

Clearly remove the lace motif and knit cables instead, not bulky ones but smooth cabled rib edges. With a simple pair of jeans, this sweater will look fantastic. Which color do you have in mind?
I agree….change the rib to a fine cable….and use a handsome shade…like Sleep or Calm 🙂 It will be fabulous! Will you have it finished in 25 days? Yes, I bet you will!
Konrad, you slay me! Your posts are so funny! You have kept this a complete secret so have no idea what you have come up with and cannot wait! When is the big reveal? Next Thursday?
