Rowan Yarns Homestead Classics Collection published in 2010 featuring designs both men and women by Martin Storey. This rustic collection of 15 designs is inspired by the crafts and textiles of the American pioneer. Ethnic and geometric intarsia, folkloric textures and homespun cabling contrast with more simple, stocking stitch designs.

The photos were shot at Peasenhall, Suffolk.

The designs are knitted using Rowan Alpaca Cotton (Cotton: 28%, Alpaca: 72%), Lima (Merino Wool: 8%, Baby Alpaca: 84%, Nylon: 8%) & Baby Alpaca DK (Baby Alpaca: 100%).

Belle

Belle by Martin Storey

Belle by Martin Storey is knitted in Rowan Yarns Alpaca Cotton. Belle is a short sleeved and cropped cardigan, ideal for winter layering. As it is knitted in stockinette stitch it is a good piece for beginners.

Pioneer Man

Pioneer Man – by Martin Storey

Pioneer Man is knitted using Rowan Baby Alpaca DK. It has a roll-neck and is featuring garter and moss stitch stripes.

Both Beanie and Mitts are knitted using incredible soft Rowan Lima. Beanie and Mitts are knitted flat and seamed afterwards. An easy to follow rib pattern and the construction makes both patterns suitable for beginners.
