After having a terrible Springtime with rain and cold weather we now have real summer, with temperatures near 40°C/100°F. And we are not really used to such temperatures in Germany, but I loooooove it.
You know I have started Ossie, a design by Marie Wallin in June and have now finished it.
And I started Pierre also a design by Marie Wallin using Rowan Yarns Handknit Cotton.
As you are able to see, Pierre needs a little bit of finishing.
Here a detail of the stripe pattern
And I casted on Vidal by Josh Bennet using Rowan Yarns Creative Linen.
I used Creative Linen last year to knit Crete a design by Martin Storey.
Ok, and I knitted it and I unraveled it and I knitted it and I unraveled it and I knitted it and here is the actual result. Vidal also needs a little bit of finishing:
And I changed the back of Vidal, see here the “side seams”:
As you see I have to do a lot before Summer 2013 is over. But we are expecting more hot weather the next days. So I will be surely able to wear Pierre and Vidal this Summer.
At the end of July many of us knitters (and crocheters or crafters) already are thinking about Autumn and Winter (maybe Christmas).
What are you going to knit for this season?
Here are some inspirations from my fellow Rowan Yarns Ambassadors:
Anja aka IamSnowFox is knitting the Gap-Tastic Cowl a design by Rowan Yarns Ambassador Jen Geigley aka MakeXDo using new Rowan Yarn Thick’n Thin. And it is a free pattern to download on Ravelry. Check it out!
Dayana is knitting Anatolia from Rowan Magazine 54 (among others). Look here for Dayana’s Vidal.
Anne aka LifeLacaDaisiCal is happy with Mary also a design using short rows for a stunning colour effect from Rowan Magazine 54 by Julia Frank.
Kristen is planning for the Harewood Scarf from Rowan Alpaca Colour designed by Lisa Richardson. Rowan Alpaca Colour (Alpaca 100%) is available in 10 different shades.
Cindi is going to knit Settler from Rowan Pioneer a design by Martin Storey. This design uses Rowan Pure Wool Aran.
Tina is knitting with Rowan Angora Haze. She is knitting the Judy Gloves from Rowan Angora Haze.
Ute is still fond of Rowan Fine Art. And she has knitted a stunning pantyhose. And she told me that Juliet is her number 1 for this season.
Maria is knitting Ashridge also with Rowan Alpaca Colour a design by Lisa Richardson.
Linda has played with Rowan Angora Haze and has knitted some cute beaded cuffs. Check it out!
Maybe I will get some information’s what Esther, Claire, Viovioletta and Sarah are going to knit.
So what’s on your needles for the autumnal season?
Happy knitting,
Konrad
I love the Ossie design. As the significant male in my life is too expensive to knit for (due to his 6ft 3 dimensions!) I’ll just have to make it for myself 🙂
This is a really good idea! Love it!
Love the first pic! fab colours xxx
Thank you so much!
