Here is the 2nd of my spring knits. I have already talked about this design by Carlo Volpi some time ago. It is my favourite design of the current Rowan Knitting & Crochet Magazine 57.
This garment is knitted using Rowan Revive and Creative Linen. Rowan Revive is a fully recycled yarn. Leftovers of cotton, silk and viscose are used to create a aestival tweed yarn. At first it may feel a little bit stiff, but this feeling is soon disappearing while knitting this yarn. It is producing a lovely textured fabric. Revive is accompanied by two shades of soft Rowan Creative Linen (50% cotton, 50% linen) on both front and back forming a striped pattern.
Carlo Volpi used a slipped stitch pattern to create a highly textured fabric. The tweed effect of Revive and the pattern are complementing each other. This is a sweater for every day or a relaxed evening at the pub.
It is also easy to care for. I have washed this garment a several times in my washing machine on a gentle wool cycle and dried it flat afterwards. The shape is still the same and it fits like before.
