Let me hear your 50 words for snow.
– Kate Bush, 50 words for snow
6 ~ snowy by Marie Wallin
Marie Wallin used Rowan Kid Classic for this design. The body is knitted in one piece until the armholes. The sleeves are knitted in the round and joined to the body. The yoke shows bobbles and a snowflake pattern.
I love this design for the same reasons as Dervla by Lisa Richardson. It is constructed for minimal finishing. But I also love it for its snow white colour and the minimalistic snowflakes.
I love the clean lines and the simplicity of the design. The single colour makes it very elegant, I think you could also do intarsia or stranded colour-work in the patterned yoke which would change it completely. Thank you for show casing this sweater. When I first looked through the magazine images online, the photo for this one did not catch my eye. Now I will have to think again.
Yes, Nancy, I think this is a design which is unveiling its beauty on the second look. It is simple but elegant and I do really appreciate its construction. I agree working this design in fair-isle will completely change its look.
